Family Portrait Photography

Philosophy

Some of the best photographs I’ve gotten out of families are when I have involved them in activities.  Personalities shine and people seems to have more fun…and fun is what it is all about!  It is a new age for photography, so throw out the traditional thoughts of family portraits and let the ideas flow.  Here are some ideas to get you started…but don’t stop there, give me some of your own!

Visit the park…
Get away from the computer and television and venture out to your favorite park for some fun the old fashion way.
Go to the zoo…
Capture the family’s excitement at the zoo…playing at the petting zoo, watching the animals and having fun.
Build sand castles…
Head to the sea for some fun in the sun.  Your family can create its own masterpiece on your favorite shore.
Go to an amusement park/fair…
Image the excitement you will capture in the photos playing games or holding on as you fly by on your favorite ride.
Pull taffy…
Make like Willy Wonka and whip up a batch of homemade saltwater taffy.  We can photograph the whole process.
Visit the museum…
Fun and educational, you can’t go wrong with that.
Go puddle jumping…
Grab a pair of water shoes and splash your heart’s content.
Make a mud pit…
This one will get messy but imagine the fun photos.
Sports photography…
Photograph your child at his/her favorite sport.  Whether it is soccer, baseball, football or whatever, it will provide some memorable times.
Have a water balloon fight…
This one is a blast…just remember your photographer is off limits.  :)
Play outside…
Have a race downhill…just remember one rule, you have to roll.  Spin in a circle…sure you’ll get dizzy, that’s the point.  Climb a tree.  Make snow angels.  How about a piggyback ride.
Go for a treat…
Get some ice cream or lets go pick some apple at your local orchard.
