We took a twist in direction with this trash the dress shoot. The concept was to focus on visual graphics and iconic landmarks, getting one dynamic image for each location. We found some great spots that really made my job a breeze. Plus, I had a great model…thanks Gina! Perhaps my favorite is this first image…reminds me of some epic Greek movie. Hope you enjoy.

 

Meet Leticia & Darren.   The moment you are in the presence of either one of them, you are just surrounded by kindness.  We started the day on the gorgeous grounds of Truman State University with weather that must have been out of the pages of Leticia’s storybook wedding.  As you can see, there was much joy and laughter throughout the day…and even a few tears.  All in all, you couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful day.

Beauty can manifest in dramatically different ways. The naturally rugged scenes that spread out beyond the end of my lens were clearly beautiful, but so was the white-clad figure that haunts these shots. In a trash the dress shoot that was a little bit “Cinderella lost on the way to her wedding,” I allowed varying beauties to populate the same settings.

This was the second location of our trash the dress session. A stark contrast between the eerie burnt landscape of the first location, Old Town Sacramento provided a more urban feel. The great aspect of this area is the diversity of backgrounds in such a small area…the intricate design of some of the old buildings, the bold colorful walls, the industrial feel of the trains and the classic feeling of brick and ivy. It felt like a storybook wedding. Lush manicured grounds, beautiful floral arrangements and lantern lighting set the mood on the family property. It was an emotional day full of joy, happiness and a few tears. Fioana and Eric were perfect with each other…kind, gentle and caring. It was truly my pleasure spending time with them on their special day.

It was a beautiful day in the Newcastle, surrounded by good food, good people and good conversation…what more could you ask for.  It was a pleasure spending the day with Christy and Kong.  They are such a sweet couple to be around.  Their kind, down to earth personalities set the mood for the day.  As you can see in the photos, love was in the air.

They say love conquers all…even the weather.  Rain was in the forecast all week leading up to the wedding day which made for a nervous family the week before, I am sure.  But by some grace, the weekend turned into one of those perfect spring Sacramento days. You couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day.

If you have ever met Emiley and Joe, you know that you couldn’t find a cuter couple in love.  It is amazing to see two people swimming in love and you can’t help but get swallowed in by it all.  It was an honor to spend the day with them and their family as we bounced around downtown Sacramento from the Citizen to the Capitol…we even had our run in with the cops.  Haha.  They were fun to work with and obviously the camera loves them!

There was a little bit of New York to this Northern California wedding, as the day was spiced with the chatter of New Yorkers.  From the moment I met Victoria and Tim for their engagement session they were united–their love almost tangible.  I admire their ability to not fret over little things, because family and friends and being comfortable together is certainly what matters most.  A wedding such as this reminds me that this is what it’s all about.  It was a night of good food, good company and good fun.

Every wedding pulsates with its own rhythm…and this one felt like one giant party!  The inevitable nerves of the ceremony were absent, and any lingering stress completely dissipated as the couple entered the reception.  Deanna & Tameem’s eyes were dancing before the music even started.  As should be the case, the newlyweds were enveloped by friends and family at their arrival, and with the beat resonating through the air, the crowd’s excitement could not be suppressed.
