Meet Anne & John. We began their engagement photography session by working around the beautiful gardens of California’s State Capitol and eventually venturing a bit into the streets of downtown Sacramento. As I got to know the two of them, I knew we were a great match for each other. Their relaxed nature and comfort between the two of them made my job a breeze. You could tell right away, that they will have many happy years together. Hope you enjoy viewing the engagement photography session!

We took a twist in direction with this trash the dress shoot. The concept was to focus on visual graphics and iconic landmarks, getting one dynamic image for each location. We found some great spots that really made my job a breeze. Plus, I had a great model…thanks Gina! Perhaps my favorite is this first image…reminds me of some epic Greek movie. Hope you enjoy.

 

Meet Leticia & Darren.   The moment you are in the presence of either one of them, you are just surrounded by kindness.  We started the day on the gorgeous grounds of Truman State University with weather that must have been out of the pages of Leticia’s storybook wedding.  As you can see, there was much joy and laughter throughout the day…and even a few tears.  All in all, you couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful day.

Meet Elyssa. She was such a sweetie to work with but as you can see in the images, she’s got some spunk. We spend the afternoon meandering our way through Old Roseville working with some great gritty backdrops. I wish her the best of luck with the upcoming audition.

Here is a cute little portrait photography session I recently did. It is an amazing thing to be able to bring out the personality of such a newly formed person. Hidden with nuances of expressions and emotions, babies are always an interesting subject.

Beauty can manifest in dramatically different ways. The naturally rugged scenes that spread out beyond the end of my lens were clearly beautiful, but so was the white-clad figure that haunts these shots. In a trash the dress shoot that was a little bit “Cinderella lost on the way to her wedding,” I allowed varying beauties to populate the same settings.

This was the second location of our trash the dress session. A stark contrast between the eerie burnt landscape of the first location, Old Town Sacramento provided a more urban feel. The great aspect of this area is the diversity of backgrounds in such a small area…the intricate design of some of the old buildings, the bold colorful walls, the industrial feel of the trains and the classic feeling of brick and ivy. It felt like a storybook wedding. Lush manicured grounds, beautiful floral arrangements and lantern lighting set the mood on the family property. It was an emotional day full of joy, happiness and a few tears. Fioana and Eric were perfect with each other…kind, gentle and caring. It was truly my pleasure spending time with them on their special day.
